review 1: I have been a long time fan of the Taste of Home Recipe books and special magazines that they put out every so often. I am the proud owner of a number of their books and magazines. So I jumped at the chance to read their latest publication. They have not let me down ever. This book is divided into five categories: Northeast, South, Midwest, Southwest and West. Each section of the book is also broken down into: Main Dishes, Sides & More and Sweets. The recipes from these areas are featured in each section of Taste across America. In The Northeast: you can find such recipes as Lobster Rolls, Yankee Pot Roast, Pat’s king of Steaks Philly Cheese Steaks, and Hermits. From the South: Bourbon Baked Ham, Crawfish Etouffee, Southern Fried Chicken, Home Style Sausage Gravy & Biscuit... mores. From the Midwest: Coffee Beef Pot Roast, Latkes, German Potato Salad, Sunday Pot Roast, and Chocolate Covered Buckeyes. From The Southwest: Sizzling Tex Mex Fajitas, Award Winning Chuck wagon Chili, German Chocolate Cake. From The West: Buffalo Steak Salad, Vegetable Pad Thai, Garlicky Herbed Shrimp, Oregon’s Best Marionberry Pie, Huckleberry Cheese Pie.You can find all of the above recipes and many more along with beautiful photographs of the finished recipe. I also loved the way the recipes were listed in the index. Made it very easy to find what you are looking for. When my budget will allow it I want to purchase this book. I don’t think readers will be disappointed. There are a few recipes I tried and loved them and look forward to more when I am able to purchase the book. A great big thank you to Taste of Home and NetGalley for making this book available even if for a limited time!5/5 starsI received an ARC of this book from the NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
review 2: I a fun look a recipes from different parts of the country. Which is a cool to know how different foods are made for people. Also a look into what ingredients are used more like seafood, and vegges. So it a think read that gives you a look around this country at lest with the foods. It is well put the together my only problem with this book is that on some of the pages it sometime hard to tell were on recipe end and another begins but other then that is a good cook book. And has a little something for every one. less
